The Three Things

Hi Everyone! This, The Three Things, is when I give little snippets of advice (not that I'm all that experienced) that have worked for me in the past. I'll post one of these per week, so send me some ideas or advice if you want to share!!

  1. When you first wake up in the morning, go to your restroom and splash your face with hot water. make sure to dry your face with a clean towel, then look in the mirror. Imagine that you are someone on the outside looking at you. What would they see? Try not to be objective and see yourself for who you are. The purpose of this exercise is to see yourself in your true light.

  2. If you are having a hard day, get in the shower and wait until the windows get foggy. I call these my Feelings Shower, where I write what I'm feeling in the condensation. Then, I ask myself why I feel that way and what might have led up to this. The purpose of this is to get to the root of your emotions and de-stress.

  3. Think about the last time that you have felt completely confident in yourself. Why was that? I want you to hold on to that memory and feel it wrap around you. Close your eyes. Think about the self-assurance you felt in that moment and channel that into you for a couple of seconds. Open your eyes. You are still the person who was confident in that one moment, and you can carry that with you as a defense.
