Creative Writing

Hi everyone! I hope everyone out there is doing well and having a great spring. I, for one, am not happy that our clocks are turned forward an hour. For all the kids who have to get on buses early, this is basically our NIGHTMARE. Well, maybe I shouldn't speak for everybody, but I'm pretty sure every teenager wants more sleep. :)

Anyway, before I go down that tangent, I want to talk about creative writing! This semester, I wanted to focus on my writing, poetry, and journalism skills. So far, it's been a blast, and I wanted to share some of my work with you!

Poem #1: Peeping Tom

The blue-dotted umbrella

Spoke before I could, chanting

Use me

Before the rain gets you.

You beat both of them to it, knocking on my door

Like the world fell at your feet

That peephole

Concave, made you seem so small, so minute.

I never knew that your eyes were those peepholes,

Staring back at me.

Dialogue #1: To Be, or not

“I thought you were going to call me.”

“We’re so sorry, Mrs. Lancer. Your appointment was double-booked.”

“Well, time is of the essence.”

“We know…and are honestly so sorry.”

“Need I remind you that my children are coming in a couple of days?”

“No, you had mentioned that before. Again, our sincerest apologies-”

“Do you know how hard it’s going to be to tell them? They have no one left. No one.”

“We know that this is a sensitive time-”

“Sensitive! Sensitive! How dare you!”

“Would you like us to set up grief counseling? There are various other-”

“Book the appointment. Now.”

“Yes, Maam. Right away. Just confirming, you want to finalize the details of…”

“My will, yes.”

Thank you guys and comment if you have writing you'd like to share as well!
